ZL Edge follows the UK Data Protection Act 2018 which is akin to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and provides equivalent principles and rules to the GDPR.

ZL Edge is not a client facing business however we may collect personal data when information is provided to us in writing, electronically, or by phone. We will not share personal data with anyone outside of ZL Edge and will retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purposes of recruitment or satisfying any legal, regulatory, accounting or reporting requirements and our legitimate interests in maintaining such personal information in our records.

ZL Edge may collect information about you including:
• your name, address and contact details, including email address and telephone number;
• details of your qualifications and employment history;
• your entitlement to work in the relevant location and;
• your questions or requests for information;

Once we no longer require identified personal data for the purposes for which it was collected, we will securely destroy such personal data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Your rights
• access and obtain a copy of your data on request;
• require ZL Edge to change incorrect or incomplete data;
• require ZL Edge to delete or stop processing your data;
• object to the processing of your data.

Market Abuse

Market Abuse Policy

ZL Edge makes available trade ideas, research and certain other information related thereto regarding one or more markets, issuers, instruments or contracts, including but not limited to, securities, commodities, currencies or any financial instrument or derivative contracts. ZL Edge deals with market professionals and high net worth individuals only. ZL Edge does not hold client money.

Our policy establishes arrangements, systems and procedures appropriate and proportionate to the scale, size and nature of the business that seek to prevent, detect and report abusive practices or suspicious trades or trade ideas. ZL Edge follows the EU’s Market Abuse Regulation and the FCA’s Market Conduct sourcebook which set out the types of behaviour which can amount to market abuse when trading in financial instruments on EU trading venues.

Inside Information
ZL Edge further follows FCA guidance in implementing these policies and procedures, which also satisfy SEC requirements designed to prevent the misuse of inside information as defined by such guidance. ZL Edge forbids its staff from researching, making any investment recommendations or trading, either personally or on behalf of others, on the basis of Inside Information, in breach of the Market Abuse Regulation.

Staff training
The training ensures that members of ZL Edge idea generation team are aware of the requirements and prohibitions of the market abuse regime and the measures ZL Edge has adopted. Training is arranged by the compliance department. ZL Edge provides training to all new employees as part of their initial Compliance Undertaking and at least annually thereafter.

Identification of potentially suspicious actions
ZL Edge is a provider of investment ideas and does not enter the market to execute trades for itself nor on behalf of others.

Procedures and controls
ZL Edge staff may not engage in any idea recommendation, research or advice the purchase or sale of an issuer’s securities whilst in possession of inside information about such issuer. Staff coming into possession of potential inside information must not communicate this information to anyone, whether internal or external to ZL Edge.

ZL Edge staff may be at a heightened risk of coming into contact with inside information when staff is:

Attending analyst days or while conversing with investment analysts at other firms. ZL Edge staff must avoid information that may include potential inside information known by such individuals or market sensitive information about forthcoming research publications
Contact with companies represents a part of ZL Edge’s investment idea generation activity. ZL Edge may make investment decisions on the basis of conclusions formed through such contacts, together with analysis of publicly-available information regarding worldwide companies. In the course of these contacts, a member of staff should guard against becoming aware of information that may constitute inside information about a company.

In all situations, if staff becomes aware of information that may constitute inside information the staff member must contact compliance immediately.

Banned List
Compliance maintains a Banned List of all securities where, through our conversation with companies and dealings with clients, brokers or any other party, ZL Edge is deemed to have inside information in relation to the underlying company.
